Class Descriptions

 

Baby and Me Dance (ages 2-3)

$45/4-week session

Baby and Me Dance is designed for toddlers entering the world of movement. Dancers will learn the basic steps through different movement activities such as obstacle courses, games, and basic choreography. This class is to be taken with a parent or caregiver. Please note that this class does not perform in the recital.

 

Pre-Ballet (ages 3-5)

$45/month

Students will begin learning basic ballet steps and French terminology. Gently, and with great care, the foundation of dance begins to be laid with elementary ballet technique. 

 

Contemporary Ballet/Modern (ages 6-9)

$60/month

In Contemporary Ballet/Modern, dancers will begin classical ballet barre technique as well as Contemporary/Modern floor technique.  Dance combinations in the center, traveling across the floor, and stretching. The expansion of French terminology continues.

 

Ballet II & Pre-Pointe/Pointe (ages 10+)

$65/month

Designed for dancers ages ten and up, Ballet II will expand the knowledge base of ballet technique, center, and traveling combinations. Jumps, turns, and leaps will also be accelerated in this faster-paced ballet class. French terminology continues to expand the dancer’s vocabulary.

Discover Acro Dance (ages 4-6)

$45/month

Designed for anyone interested in basic tumbling skills such as cartwheels, handstands, and bridges. This class is designed for students who have never done acro dance before as well as students who have had some acro or gymnastics education or have dabbled in it on their own at home. Acro can be taken along with a dance class or by itself.

Beginning Acro Dance (ages 6-14)

$60/month

Designed for anyone interested in basic tumbling skills such as cartwheels, handstands, and bridges. This class is designed for students who have never done acro dance before as well as students who have had some acro or gymnastics education or have dabbled in it on their own at home. Acro can be taken along with a dance class or by itself.

Acro 1 (ages 6-14)

$65/month

Designed for anyone interested in the next level of tumbling skills such as one-handed cartwheels, walking handstands, and walking bridges. This class will also focus on preparing for more intermediate tricks when students are ready. Acro can be taken along with a dance class or by itself.

Hip-Hop (ages 7-14)

$45/month

This class is designed for beginner dancers and will introduce the foundation of hip-hop including popping and locking, isolations, and following the rhythm and beat of a song. No experience necessary! 

 

Dance Troupe (ages 7-18)

$95/month (includes one technique class)

Dancers must have at least one year of dance experience to join this class. This class is for dancers who are interested in performing several times a year around the community. In this class, dancers will learn modern/contemporary dance technique as a basis for their performance choreography. Dance Troupe members' monthly tuition also covers one technique class.
